Freelance Site Manager – Main Contractor

An established main contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to lead the delivery of a £3m new build warehouse project in Sutton, Surrey. The development includes associated office space and external works, including car parking and landscaping.

This is a 12-month contract for an experienced site professional who can take ownership of day-to-day site activities and drive the project through to successful completion.

Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site construction activities from groundworks through to handover.
• Oversee subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered to specification, on time, and within budget.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and site presentation.
• Liaise with the client, design team, and internal project managers.
• Monitor progress against programme and report regularly on site performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing new build industrial, warehouse, or commercial projects.
• Strong main contractor background.
• Valid SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS certifications.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain full site control.

Contract Details

• Location: Sutton, Surrey
• Duration: 12 months
• Rate: £320 per day (CIS / Ltd company)
