Health & Safety Manager – Newbuild and Civils – Part time or Full time

Salary: In the region of £65K + Benefits or a Day rate of £275 per day, our client is open to freelance or permanent applicants for this role

We are recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a reputable construction contractor operating across multiple sectors, including Civils & Groundworks, Commercial New Build, and Specialist Refurbishment projects.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with industry best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s health & safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Provide guidance and training to site teams and subcontractors
  • Support project teams in planning safe systems of work
  • Lead accident/incident investigations and drive continuous improvement

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within the construction sector
  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation across civils, groundworks, new build, and refurbishment environments
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to influence safe behaviours across diverse project teams

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or higher) preferred
  • Full UK driving licence
