HVAC Mechanical Estimator

An established family-run plumbing and heating contractor is looking to expand their estimating team. With a Senior Estimator already in place, they’re now seeking a talented HVAC Mechanical Estimator — whether you’re an experienced professional or a developing estimator with strong mechanical knowledge and great potential.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, and heating) works across a mix of commercial and residential projects. Working closely with the existing estimating and project teams, you’ll play a key role in helping the business secure and deliver profitable work.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing tender drawings and specifications to identify scope and requirements.
• Producing detailed mechanical (HVAC) estimates, including material take-offs and labour calculations.
• Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
• Supporting bid submissions and value engineering exercises.
• Collaborating with the Senior Estimator and wider project team.

Requirements

• Mechanical background essential – ideally plumbing, heating, or building services.
• HVAC estimating experience (ideal).
• Experience across both commercial and residential projects.
• Strong attention to detail and solid numerical skills.
• A friendly, team-oriented attitude – someone who will fit into a close-knit, family-run environment.

Job Benefits

• Salary between £50,000 – £65,000, depending on experience.
