Project Manager

VR Group are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Project Manager to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong construction background who enjoys taking ownership of projects and working closely with clients, site teams and senior management to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

The successful candidate will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning and design through to delivery and completion. Depending on experience and the requirements of the business, you may have responsibility for one or several projects at any given time.

Security & Vetting

Our client delivers projects for a number of organisations operating within highly regulated and security-sensitive sectors, including policing, aviation and central and local government.

As a result, candidates must be comfortable undergoing security and vetting procedures where required. This may include DBS, BPSS and/or additional client-specific security checks, depending on the project and site.

Candidates will therefore need to:

• Have the full right to work in the UK.
• Have been continuously resident in the UK for the previous five years.
• Be willing to undergo the relevant security and vetting checks.
• Be prepared to provide any information required as part of the vetting process, including details of previous convictions or cautions where applicable.

Please be aware that individual project and client requirements may vary, and the ability to pass and maintain the required level of security clearance may be necessary to work on certain sites.

Responsibilities

Working closely with clients, senior management, design teams and site personnel, your responsibilities will include:

• Meeting with clients and senior management to understand project requirements, timescales and costs.
• Developing and managing detailed project plans, adapting these as projects progress and requirements change.
• Coordinating project teams and allocating work effectively based on experience and skillsets.
• Monitoring progress to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
• Providing regular project updates and reports to clients, senior management and other stakeholders.
• Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, colleagues and other project stakeholders.
• Providing effective leadership and maintaining excellent communication throughout the project.
• Ensuring all works are carried out in line with relevant health & safety requirements and industry standards.

Requirements

We’re looking for an experienced and organised Project Manager who can confidently manage projects and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

You will ideally have:

• • Previous experience working in a Project Manager role within the construction industry.
  • A strong understanding of health & safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and ISO procedures.
  • The confidence to communicate with clients from a variety of sectors.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • A professional and approachable manner when dealing with clients and project teams.

Qualifications

Candidates will need to hold:

• A current and appropriate CSCS card for their role/grade, supported by a relevant recognised qualification such as an NVQ, HNC/HND or degree (or equivalent evidence of competence).
• SMSTS
• First Aid at Work
• HNC in Construction Management or equivalent, or significant relevant experience.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.
• A willingness to wear company-issued PPE and uniform when required on site.

Please note: CSCS cards held under ‘grandfather rights’ without an underpinning recognised qualification will not be accepted.
